The Résonance experiences in brief
Résonance offers seven ways to receive sound, all at 26 rue de Bassano, in the 16th. The best known is the gong bath in Paris: a group session of about an hour, lying down, from €39. Alongside it sit the sound massage with Tibetan bowls (€95), the private session one to one (from €95), the duo session (€135) and private hire of the studio for a group (from €350). All of them start from the same principle: nothing is asked of you but to be there.

How it runs
What actually happens in a session?
The shape varies little from one format to the next. You're welcomed quietly, settled on the floor or on a table depending on the session, and after a short settling-in the sound takes over. There's no posture to hold and no breathing to follow, and dropping the effort is exactly what makes it work. Coming back is gentle, with time to sit up before you meet the street again.
The only real question is what setting you're after. Want to disappear into a group and switch off for an hour? The group sound bath is built for that. Need something more contained, or more physical? Look towards the Tibetan bowl massage or the one-to-one session. The neighbourhood
A studio in the 16th, between Trocadéro and the Champs-Élysées
The studio sits at 26 rue de Bassano, on the border of the 16th and the 8th, between place Victor Hugo, Trocadéro and the Champs-Élysées. This is a neighbourhood of full calendars: head offices, private practices, fashion houses, a lot of people working in English all day. Dropping an hour of silence into the middle of that is a faintly radical act. For plenty of people it's the only stretch of the week without a screen or a meeting in it.
